What One Local Business Did to Start Getting Found Online (And You Can Too)

Hi Reader,

I’ve got a quick story that might sound familiar—and hopefully, it’s helpful as you think about your own business’s online presence.

So, we recently worked with a local company, OFC Tile & Remodel.

They’ve been in the remodeling business for over 10 years and are really good at what they do.

The kind of company you can trust to get the job done right.

But there was one big problem—they were practically invisible online.

They had this DIY website that hadn’t been updated in years. It didn’t reflect their quality work or their experience, and as a result, they weren’t showing up on Google, and customers weren’t finding them.

It was frustrating for them because they knew they were losing out on potential clients every day.

Here’s the thing:

OFC Tile & Remodel is not alone in this.

A lot of local businesses have fantastic reputations offline, but their websites don’t do them any favors online.

Today, that’s where people are looking for you first.

Here’s What We Did for Them—And Why It Worked

We decided to tackle their online presence from a few different angles, and I thought I’d share what worked for them, just in case some of this could help you too.

1. Make the Website Work for You
First, we knew their website needed a major update. It wasn’t just about making it “pretty”—it needed to actually bring in business.

We rebuilt the site from scratch, keeping it simple but professional, with clear information about their services.

You can visit their website by clicking here.

Takeaway for you:

if your website doesn’t answer "What do you do, and why should I choose you?" In the first few seconds, it’s time for a refresh.

2. Be Easy to Find
Google is everything when it comes to being found online. We worked on their Local SEO

(which is just a fancy way of saying: “helping Google understand what you do so local people can find you”).

We cleaned up their Google My Business profile (GMB)—turns out they had duplicate profiles and some confusing info out there.

It took a little effort, but now when people search for tile remodeling services in their area, OFC Tile & Remodel actually shows up.

Takeaway for you:

Google My Business is huge for local searches. Make sure your profile is accurate and optimized. It’s free, and it makes a big difference.

3. Make It Easy to Reach You
People don’t always want to pick up the phone.

We added an easy to find Call To Actions (CTAs) on their website that allows visitors to reach out instantly.

We also set up notifications so that whenever someone fills out a contact form or sends a chat, OFC gets an alert on their phone.

They can follow up quickly, which makes a big difference in converting those leads.

Takeaway for you:

If you don’t already have an easy way for customers to contact you on your website

(like a chat feature or a form), adding one can really boost your lead flow.

What Happened Next?

Within just a couple of months, things started changing for OFC Tile & Remodel. Here’s what they saw:

  • More people were visiting their site (214 new users in just a few months).
  • They started showing up for over 300 new search terms on Google.
  • Their site appeared in search results over 9,000 times—that’s 9,000 chances to be seen by potential customers.

The best part? They started getting more calls and inquiries from local customers, and their jobs started picking up.

I’m sharing this because it’s not magic or some secret formula.

It’s just about making sure your online presence matches the quality of the work you do in real life.

For most businesses, that’s really all it takes.

Why This Matters to You

I know a lot of business owners struggle with the same thing:

You’re working hard, delivering great results, but your website and online presence aren’t helping you as much as they could.

Here are three quick questions to ask yourself:

  • Does your website make it clear what you do and how people can work with you?
  • Are you showing up on Google when people search for the services you offer in your area?
  • Is it easy for potential customers to reach out to you when they’re ready?

If you’re not sure about any of these, it’s totally okay! This is exactly what we help businesses with every day.
